course 3: Wool Topmaking & Early Stage Processing

This course will provide an overview of the steps required to purchase and assemble wool in preparation for processing, including the use of specifications and prediction techniques relating to performance in processing.

It will present extensive information on correct pre-scour greasy wool blending systems and cover all mechanical and physical aspects of the complete scouring and combing processes. The value from application of predictive and quality management tools such a TEAM 3 and Yarnspec will be demonstrated. A major focus will be on improvements in processing efficiency and product quality and the economic benefits to the company which can be achieved.

Interactive discussion with course participants will be encouraged and a practical session on greasy wool selection, scouring and combing to wool top will be included.

This course will be presented in English with Chinese translation provided.

Participation in Course 1 is a recommended prerequisite for this course.
